Student Feedback - Help Menu

Getting Started

How do I get started? If you are a student click Student Feedback under the heading titled Students. If you are an instructor/administrator and you need to launch an evaluation for a class, click the Evaluation Management button under the Instructors/Administrators heading.

How do I get access to the system?
- Students: All active students should have access, but only courses that are currently open for online evaluation will be visible.
- Instructors: Instructors are able to view and manage courses they are assigned to teach.
- Administrators: Security is managed through the Registrar's office and the myZou Security Request Form

Do I need a login to use this application? Yes, all users are required to use their MU pawprint account.

Where do I log in? Once you click either the Student Feedback button or Evaluation Management button the login window will appear and prompt you to type in your MU pawprint. you will be prompted to log into the application.

Students

What does the student menu look like? Once a student has logged into the Student Feedback they will be presented with a list of courses for that semester, as seen in Figure 1.

Student Feedback Menu Legend
- Instructor's name for the course you are taking. If this is a team-taught course, then under Instructor Name heading, it will state Multiple Instructors.
- This is the role of the instructor. PI = Primary Instructor, SI = Secondardy Instructor, TA = Teaching Assistant, MUL = Multiple instructors.
- This is the start date of the evaulation as set by the instructor.
- This is the end date of the evaluation as set by the instructor.
- This is the abbrevated course name
- This is the course section
- This is the description of the type of course. Below is a list of possible course types:
1. CLN = Clinical
2. DIS = Discussion
3. FLD = Field Studies
4. IND = Independent Study
5. LES = Individual Lessons
6. IST = Individual Study
7. ITV = Interactive Video
8. INT = Internet
9. IXT = Internship/Externship
10. LAB = Laboratory
11. LEC = Lecture
12. LST = Lecture/Standard
13. Blank = N/A
14. RSD = Recitation/Seminar/Discussion
15. STU = Studio
- Status is the activity of the evaluation. Once an instructor/administrator starts an evaulation it becomes OPEN. If a student has completed and submitted an evaluation the open status will change to SUBMITTED. If the evaluation peroid has passed the evaulation status will change to CLOSED.
- This is the number of days until the student has to complete the evaluation.

Instructors/Administrator

What does the Instructor/Administrator menu look like? After an instructor/administrator has logged into the Student Feedback he/she will be presented with a list of classes as seen in Figure 2.

Steps to Launch an Evaluation
1. Click the information icon in the row of the class that needs an evaluation launched.
2. After clicking the information icon the Evaluation Management Details menu will appear as seen in Figure 3.
3. Next select an Evaluation Form type (Course Feedback Form, Nursing Clinical Form) and update and/or review the evaluation start and end date. These dates are calculated based on the course start and end date of the selected class.
4. Finally, click the Launch Evaluation button to start an evaluation for a class.
5. You have successfully launched an student feedback evaluation. The Instructor/Administrator Student Feedback Main Menu will refresh and the evaluation form type will switch from to the new Student Feedback type.

What is an evaluation status? - The evaluation status is the status of completeness for the student feedback.
Below is a list of possible evaluation status values:
1. Not Launched - Indicates that an evaluation has not been set up for this course.
2. Launched - Indicates that an evaluation was launched for a course
3. In-Progress - Indicates that the student feedback process is active.
4. Complete - Indicates that the evaluation peroid has passed and the student feedback is closed for students. All submitted respones will be used in the final report.

When can an instructor view the final report? - Reports will be available,in the evaluation management window as seen in Figure 4, at the end of the semester on the day following the date that all grades are due. Reports can be accessed by the instructor of the course or the administrative office assistant that launched the evaluation.

How can an instructor create custom questions in the Student Feedback? In Figure 3 there a link under the sentence "Need to manage your custom questions?". Click the link titled Custom Question to get to the custom questions menu. You can also get to the custom question page from Instructor/Administrator Student Feedback Main Menu as seen in Figure 2 under the heading titled Custom Questions.

How will an instructor or administrator know an evaluation was successfully launched? After an evaluation has been launched an instructor will receive an email that containing information about what class as seen in Figure 6.
